Right I might seem a right whinger but I’m at the end of my tether. I’m almost 17 weeks pregnant with baby #3 2 weeks ago my DD was very unwell, took her to a&e and she had tonsillitis she’s almost 2 and wasn’t coping well with it bless her, obviously as mum she was all over my face, and kept coughing directly in my face, I joked to my partner that I’d be next. Well of course I was. She’s right as rain now thankfully, but now I’ve had a dreadful cough for the last 9/10 days and it’s actually really disheartening now. I can’t control the cough. Taking rapid flows everyday. It’s not COVID. But I can’t find anything I can safely take for a little relief 😭 it’s ripping my throat to shreds I’m miserable

I had whooping cough at 6 months with my first.

All the doctor could suggest was something called Simple Linctus, mixed with tepid black tea and honey. You can get it from pharmacies.

I think sucking boiled sweets is probably just as effective, but it might be worth a try.
