Just a quick couple of questions - is vienetta ice cream okay to eat? I've presumed it is as it's made by walls but having an after food panic!

Also was planning on a spag Bol tomorrow, is Parmesan cheese okay?

Yes both fine.

Why would the Vienetta be an issue? The nhs had a list, as does Google.

Kaw10 · 10/04/2022 18:59

OP as long as stuff is pasteurised it's absolutely fine. Confused

Cakecakecheese · 10/04/2022 20:20

Both are fine. Bookmark this page www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/keeping-well/foods-to-avoid/

Are you in the UK? If so, stick to the NHS list of what needs to be avoided. It’s not that long really, but if you google any food you’ll probably be able to find a website somewhere telling you you can’t eat it. Plus different countries have different food standards eg we can eat raw eggs if lion stamped, raw eggs are a big no in other places.

Vienetta is fine
Parmesan also fine even if not pasteurised as its a hard cheese

Garman · 10/04/2022 20:59

Dear God, of course they are.

😂

Thank you for the kind comments for a very anxious lady who's been referred to the mental health team, hence asking what may seem as a stupid question.

No need for bitchy comments really

Why wouldn’t ice cream and cheese be okay…

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 10/04/2022 22:09

Certain cheeses aren't okay and I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. As a pp stated if you type into google there is always websites that come up that make you second guess things.
As I said I'm suffering from anxiety so that also makes you overthink and second guess everything you do.

Anyway question answered, thanks again

Soft mould ripened and blue cheese are ok if cooked but not if uncooked
Hard cheeses ok even if unpasteurised as they have low moisture content.
Commercially produced ice creams are fine as they will have been made with pasteurised milk (it would say on it if its unpasteurised)
