I am so happy to be becoming a new mommy again 14 years later but I'm also very nervous as I will be 39 next month and I'm overweight. I was on a weight loss journey before I had conceived and was losing a bit at a time, now it petrifies me putting on more weight and plus I ain't no spring chicken. I am thinking to continue with my swimming and to eat healthy and not to indulge on the naughty stuff but when I do fancy a treat to munch on sweet popcorn 🍿 my fav go to for a nibble 😋 to maybe do some light workouts and do my Fitbit challenges with brisk walking. Already just walking around the corner I get out of breath...it really scares me as I haven't felt breathless like this since I was hospitalised two years ago with covid and pneumonia.

Hi @Chantastic83 congratulations.

I'm 39 and also overweight, unexpected pregnancy. I lost 8kg in the first trimester, bmi around 34 now I think. I have the same worries. I go for long walks everyday and get in around 15k steps.

How far along are you?

LittleBearPad · 10/04/2022 18:47

I weighed less post birth than I did when I got pregnant. All your plans sound very sensible. Don’t worry!

@Chantastic83 I only lost 8kg as I had bad nausea. I'm 18 weeks, seems like at have very similar situations

I was a bit overweight at the start of my second pregnancy, I didnt gain any weight and after the baby was born I kept walking and lost loads of weight!
It's great motivation, to make your baby and you as healthy as can be. Good luck!

Well I haven't had any morning sickness as yet, maybe it won't come lol that's wishful thinking haha I'm 5 weeks now, I'm on a Fitbit work week hustle so want to do a lot of walking this week and even take a walk around the lickey hills country park. Don't you get back out doing 15k steps?
