Hi ladies,

There are a few us who have mentioned starting a thread to keep us accountable for our pregnancy.

@Poppypip1 - I know you was one. I'll try and work out how to link it to the other thread.

Yes I'll join too! Do we have any rules? I need rules in my life 😂

Ooo this sounds like something I need in my life! Currently 19 weeks and was floors by nausea in the first trimester and then covid a week ago so my exercise has fallen off the wagon! I've put my Fitbit back on and making an effort to be more active now. So far it's done wonders for my mental health. I always wanted to be active during pregnancy and so far I've become a bit of a sofa slug! My plan is to just walk more and build myself back up as covid has really done a number on me!! 😩

@Peauela - rules. To try our hardest but to be kind to ourselves at the same time!

@kitty1993 - I too was floored by nausea for the first trimester, I spent two months in bed!

I've put my fit bit back on for the first time today. I'll look at increasing my steps every day. I've had a bowl of shredded wheats for breakfast.

Aaah yeah well done @TotoAnnihiliation

So far I’ve gained a lot (10kg/about 20lbs) I guess getting preggy at Christmas time might not have helped? But yeah I’m a bit anxious as to how much I’ve actually gained so far and would love to keep a better handle on it! Not to mention little to no focused movement..

I’ve been eating a lot of carbs (and past fullness) most days for dinner and no exercise.

Here’s plan (some of these I’ve booked to keep me accountable).

Monday- swim/walk
Tuesday - workout/walk
Wednesday - workout/walk
Thursday - yoga
Friday- swim
Saturday/Sunday : Long walk

It may seem a lot but I do genuinely enjoy exercise and notice a huge change in MH as mentioned by @kitty1993 and I also would rather workout more and be able to eat food because let’s face it it’s glorious to eat what you’re craving.

The ‘workouts’ are just an workouts for pregnancy and so not at all strenuous.

I agree that just moving is good for mental health. I've spent my time hibernating and feeling miserable since the beginning of January. I feel much better since resigning from the job from hell.

I've managed to hang the washing out today - that was a huge achievement for me! Tomorrow I have a day planned that involves walking and I'm setting that as my baseline to improve from.

Did everyone give up or is it just quiet 😂

amorningperson · 10/05/2022 11:15

Ha I was just thinking about this - I'd love to do some sort of challenge if anyone is interested? I have been doing yoga every week but skimping on the weight training which I think I really important for an easier labour as from my recollection it's like running a marathon... three times over!

Peauela · 12/05/2022 14:50

I'm not gonna lie I've been lazy so far but I'm planning to introduce yoga and some body weight exercises starting this weekend. I'm also planning to do some pelvic floor exercises. Hopefully it will make labour a bit easier 😅
