no fetal heartbeat at 7 1/2 weeks

I am being advised to take drugs to expel the fetus but wondering if I should wait another week and have another scan?

Anyone with any thoughts or experience here?

Hi All,

Have faith if your 7 week scan showed no fetal heartbeat.

I was scanned at 7,5 weeks and the doctor was unable to see the fetal poles or heartbeat.
Because I had artificial inseminiation, we were 100% sure about my dates.

I was told to wait a week and then we would re-scan.

Having read a lot about the subject, I did not have high expecatations, but am pleased to advise that the scan I had today, at 8,5 weeks, showed a 13,9mm embryo and a very obvious heartbeat.

My pregnancy has now been confirmed and there is a 70-90% chance that all will proceed well.

Good luck to those who find themselves in a similar position, and have faith that your little baby is just a late starter!
