Pregnant again after Early Loss

Hi Everyone,

I've just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant, I've felt all week that I was pregnant but just couldn't bring myself to do a test until today, I had an early pregnancy loss at just 5 weeks at the beginning of March so I'm just so anxious and symptom spotting the start of another loss.

I've got this niggly pain at the top of my bum at the right side. Last time I had really bad lower back ache so not the same but I am so worried. This baby is very much wanted and we've been actively trying since December last year.

Can anyone reassure me or have had a similar experience? I've got an early scan booked in for 6 weeks.. I'm hoping and praying we get there this time and all is good 🙏🏻

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy.
I had a very similar experience; I found out I was pregnant and then had an early miscarriage a few days later at 5 weeks. Although I was only pregnant for a few days it was still really upsetting.

I then fell pregnant the very next month. I'm not going to lie, I was extremely anxious the entire pregnancy. I had a few niggles and aches, but nothing went beyond that. When my miscarriage started in my previous pregnancy I just somehow knew it was serious and when it was confirmed by the GP I wasn't surprised, just sad.

An early scan also really reassured me and when I felt baby kicking I felt even better. I'm currently breastfeeding my 10-week old girl on the sofa!

There's no guarantees obviously, but good luck with your pregnancy.

Hey @AreWeNearlyHairnet thank you for replying!

I definitely felt the same as you last time, I think I just new that something wasn't right, it was my first pregnancy so I guess nothing to compare what a "normal" pregnancy feels like but I just couldn't shake the feeling then I started to bleed so knew it was over.

I'm hoping it's just a niggly pain that dissipates, trying not to get my hopes up just in case the same happens again ☹️ Im just going to take each day as it comes and hopefully no bleeding!

Thanks again! ☺️

I had a miscarriage on the 1st March and I am now 5 weeks. I am in the exact same boat as you. It is very stressful 😫.

Constantly symptom spotting and worrying.
I had a loss at 15 weeks in 2018 and got pregnant again a few months after which was successful so I am hopeful.
Feel free to message me for a bit of peer support ❤

@Mynotsoperfectlittlefamily congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️, it's so worrying isn't it? I'm sorry to hear you've had previous miscarriages as well! I hope that this one is a sticky bean for you!

Have you thought about an early reassurance scan? I've got one booked for Easter Monday so just going to be counting down the days until then and hoping we make it to the next hurdle! X

I avoid early scans the pregnancy after the miscarriage we had an early scan and it was awful and so much more stressful, the dates weren't matching up and there wasn't a heartbeat on the first one so we had to go back 2 weeks later. Which was a lonngg time. Since then I just try to think what will be will be. Its the dating scan alone which is the hard part for me.
