Induction by balloon catheter

Hi there I am just after some advice I am due to be induced by balloon catheter. Now they have given me leaflets and told me the basics of what they will do. They said I get it put in then can go home for 24 hours and the next day when I go back my waters will be broke and on a drip and that the start of everything. Now my partner work are not the best but he having two weeks off so I have said if I am only getting the balloon in on the first day makes more sense my sister coming for that so not a wasted day off for him and he with me for the more important second day. So more time off with baby how ever the first day I have said he is on call just incase I need him. He will do what ever I say. Now this baby is our much waited for 4 and half years 2 cycle of ivf baby. Do you think this will be ok to do what are your story on balloon catheter induction . Any advice would be great as I would have hate if I made the wrong choice or descion on it all. Many thank

Honestly you just never know, I know people who have had balloon induction and it's their first baby and they've had their babies in a few hours as it's brought on naturally and their waters have broken and for me it took 3 days for my to get waters broken xx

I had it over night in hospital, so in for 12 hours. I'd ask for gas when it's going in (just in case you want it). And before you go home make sure you can pee, for me it compressed my bladder to much and I couldn't pee so I needed cathetised. By the morning I'd gained 1cm (not loads) but enough to break my waters as they didn't go on their own. Then I was put on the drip. Good luck!
