I have been trying to sleep on my left side all night every night but I wake up every hour or so and my whole left side from my hip down my leg is numb. I turn to my right and the same thing happens ? Does anyone know how to try stop this happening, I'm up every hour or so a night and I'm only 15 weeks pregnant ?

Is your mattress on the firmer side? Do you have a spare single duvet or blanket that you could fold and put under your sheet to add a bit of a softer top to your mattress and see if that helps maybe?

Following, I'm 34 weeks and the exact same

@MrsDoraDumble I would say my mattress feels quite firm, although until I was pregnant I didn't think this ? I feel everything has changed for me and I'm just never comfy. I tried last night putting an extra duvet down to try make it more comfy and it didn't work ☹️ I've hardly slept and I'm at my wits end knowing I have this so early on x

Do you usually prefer to sleep on your back? (Or front).

I always slept on my back, really hate sleeping on either side. At 14/15 weeks I slept terribly, knowing that I should sleep on one side or the other but could never get comfortable. The shoulder I was lying on would hurt, my arm, hip etc. This was even with a big U shape body pillow (can still fully recommend one though!). I'd toss and turn all night.

Thankfully my body seems to have gotten used to side sleeping. Would still prefer to lie flat on my back all night but when I really get the urge to do that, I tuck a firm pillow under my right side so I'm kind of lying on my back but tilted to the left, which does the trick.

Still contemplating getting a cheap foam topper.

@Kaw10 do you know what the weird thing is, before I was pregnant I was always a side sleeper then for some reason I fell pregnant and all of a sudden kept sleeping on my back? So that was also a worry, that's when I've made sure to sleep on my side but now I have this awful outer thigh pain which causes numbness all down my legs. I might look into a cheap foam topper to see if that helps any, that's a good idea. Crazy what pregnancy can do to u eh xx

Did you ever find out what was causing this, OP? I'm 15 weeks and have had the same thing for the last week or so.
