Anyone else wide awake at 3am?

I've been awake since 3am, baby wakes me up because she starts kicking and rolling around in the middle lf the night and I can't get back to sleep!
Leaving me so tired in the day.
I'm in third trimester and happens every night - anyone else have this? Lol

Maybe I'm carrying a future gymnast?

Hey I am in the third trimester too. But not awake because of baby rolling around. I’m awake because of shortness of breath. Sad

Hello! I'm second trimester but wake at 4ish most night. Currently debating whether I should get up now and have some tea! Went to bed around 10 so I have had some sleep...

Sorry to hear, is shortness of breath due to baby taking up room? Pregnancy is so hard 😫

Tea sounds like a great idea I might do the same, not going to sleep now 😴

Me! Awake since 2:30am, stopped trying to go back to sleep at 3 and made a hot drink. Normally get up at 5am anyway but still annoying!

Only 23 weeks but the little monkey didn't stop wriggling between 2:30 and 6:00. Have tried to explain to him the concept of night-time but he evidently hasn't understood GrinGrin

@Lilybow no idea, the hospital are investigating for clot, as apparently in pregnancy you are at higher risk of developing clots. I have an ultrasound of my legs today but don’t want to go ahead with cheat x-rays as it carries risks. But I am also low on hemoglobin. Been waking up every 2 hours almost gasping for air. I’m hoping they can just give me a blood transfusion as it’s most likely because of the lack of iron/hemoglobin.

@MrsJdot are you sleeping and then waking up on your back? Could the baby be pressing on your inferior vena cava?

GinnyBee · 08/04/2022 08:04

I keep waking between 2-4am for no obvious reason, then falling back asleep around 5.30-6. Thank god I'm now on maternity leave so that second sleep is possible instead of having to be getting up anyway to go to work.

It's been happening since the start but more frequently the later in pregnancy I get, and the exhaustion in the morning is also getting worse.

MrsJdot · 08/04/2022 12:32

@Kaw10 hey, no I always sleep on my side. The shortness of breath even happens if I’m sitting doing nothing, it tends to get better and worse on it’s own. Been happening for 1 week now.

Hellohello5678 · 09/04/2022 05:37

Well that's me again, been awake since half past 2 and tossed and turned for a few hours before giving in for tea and toast! I think it's a combination of bad dreams, aches and pains, fear of back sleeping, needing the loo and thirst. Grin

I also feel I'm impacting on my husband's sleep. He hasn't been annoyed but I know I wake him up frequently in the night and I wish I didn't! I used to sleep really well.

Anyone else in the 5am club today?!

whyohwhy101 · 09/04/2022 06:05

Yep. Every night I wake up usually at 12.30am. Then again at about 2am. Sometimes can't get back to sleep after this so I'm awake all night. If I do manage to fall asleep, then I wake up again at 5am! I'm 26 weeks. This has been happening for weeks now.

MBM18 · 09/04/2022 06:19

I had this in my pregnancy, especially towards the end. Would wake around 3-4am for an hour or 2, then want to fall back asleep just before my alarm. I always said to myself it's my body getting prepared for the night feeds Grin

Nearly 38 weeks here. Waken between 3am-4am. Read my kindle for an hour and then usually get back over. DS wakens at 7. Have been doing school run then hopping back in to bed for an hour. Sympathies all

whyohwhy101 · 10/04/2022 20:17

I'm hoping for a better nights sleep tonight but if I wake up again and struggle to get back off, I think I might get my kindle out too!

Lilybow · 10/04/2022 20:36

I'm hoping I can wake up at even 5am instead of 3 or 4... fingers crossed for a better sleep everyone
