Hi I was just posting to see if anyone can help or had any experience , I have been bleeding on and off since 6 weeks , I am now 7 weeks , today when I woke up , I had massive bright red bleeding with some clots ! I panicked and went for a scan and heartbeat was still there . And it was subchorionic hematoma seen near cervix on scan .
How is it possible for body not to miscarry when the bleeding is with clots ?
I’m worried that when I’m passing the clots, quite big , will this not open up the cervix and make me miscarry ?
I appreaciate any advice or if you have had this happen and all was fine , thank you Smile

I was in this position 5 years ago when i was carrying my little boy in 2017, my bleeding started from 7 weeks & they didnt know what it was at first until a few scans later as it carried on right up intill like 29/30 weeks from what i can remember! Never forget the first time it happened though was in home bargains with pink jeans on shopping & then all of a sudden no pain just a gush of bright red blood soaked my jeans! Such a terrifying experience because you automatically think the worst i was hysterical going back to car to my partner.. is the collection of blood away from the baby?.. im not a doctor and dont want it to panic you but it can put you at risk of misscarriage not sure why but to be honest if the pocket of blood is away from the baby then im sure it is a good thing and chances are you wont misscarry. I know its hard hun but try not to overthink or expect the worse atleast anytime you have a bleed they will scan you straightaway to check on baby because thats what they did with me & eachtime he was fine 😁 x

I had this last year from 5 weeks until 12 weeks. Gush of blood when I lift anything heavy. The hematoma was gone at 12 week scan. Baby is now 10 months. Try to take it easy and don't be worrying too much.

I had this with my 2nd, they are 9 years old now. It was terrifying seeing so much blood, and happened a few times. After the first time I was warned to expect more blood as the could see them on the scan

@AlwaysBeAMummyTo6 thank you girls xx
The henotoma was next to baby at 6 weeks but today I’m 7 weeks and it’s moved near the cervix . Probably finding it’s way out now ? I have been resting and stuff so I don’t know why I still bled … it’s so scary ain’t it !!!!
I thought it’s over straight away when I saw red blood and clots but it wasn’t Smile next few weeks I’ll be walking on egg shells ! I will be booking private scan every single week till I’m 12 weeks , fingers crossed I get that far ! Smile

@mishmased thanks Smile xx
Well it’s going to be hard because my job involves lifting Sad and I will still go to work as I took 2 weeks off already hoping I won’t bleed and I still did today so I don’t see what difference it will make now :) maybe it’s good for me to let it bleed out as it was seen near the cervix today , which means it’s about to come out soon .. xx

Yes thats a good thing then hun because thats all its trying to do is expel itself and sometimes the blood can be reabsorbed aswell depending on the size of the it. Who knows how long its going to last for you but you do need to rest and dont lift anything heavy just take it easy thats the advice i was given & little bean will be ok try not worry too much as worrying isnt good for your pregnancy or little baby xx

My daughter is now 12 and I had a subchronic haematoma in my pregnancy with her. The area of blood was much bigger than baby when we discovered it after a bleed at around 8 weeks, it was still there at 12 weeks but now smaller than baby and had completely gone by 20 weeks (absorbed back into my body rather than passed vaginally).
My DD was born 2 weeks after her due date and was only 5lb 12oz- she was really very small for her dates, esp considering the size of my other babies at birth. I am not sure if the two are connected, I seem to remember someone suggesting the placenta may have been attached to scar tissue (from a previous D&C) which caused the bleed and the placenta was not as well attached as it could have been after the bleed, but can’t remember who suggested that and so don’t know how credible it is.
Fingers crossed for you and your little one, I remember what a stressful time it was. All you can do is rest up and hope for the best.

I had a huge red bleed with my now very healthy 1 year old. And several with my 10 year old. Same issue as you, SCH.
It can turn out absolutely fine but definitely do not lift anythung! Get a pregnancy risk assessment at work first thing tomorrow.

My hospital signed me off for weeks this time round.

Twizbe · 07/04/2022 17:21

I had a SH with both mine. With my daughter I had a huge bleed at 6 and 9 weeks. With my son I had a big one at 9 weeks.

All was ok and they are now 5 and 3.

If you bleed fry to lie on your left side. Tell work as well. They can conduct a risk assessment and remove the heavy lifting from your role. I had to tell work much earlier than I wanted because of the bleeding and needing to take it easy

ShareLove · 07/04/2022 20:08

@Twizbe hey , thanks Smile
Unfortunalty I don’t want to tell my work because I have had 5 early losses at 5-6 weeks before I am still not sure if this pregnancy will go on much longer , the last thing I want is people to know and feel sorry for me if I lose this pregnancy again soon Sad I’m in a bad situation really , I feel like I can’t tell work otherwise people Will know I’m pregnant which I want to avoid at least till I’m 12 weeks xx I’ll just have to see how I get on , it will have to be whatever it will be … Sad
I have recurrent pregnancy losses diagnosis so I can’t pretend this will be successful , maybe it will be this time I don’t know , I’m on medication this time so maybe it’s helping .. but honestly I can’t tell work , I really can’t .

I’ll just have to secretly take it easy at work , well as easy as I can x

You don't need to tell work, just HR/management so they can remove the heavy lifting. Though, to emphasize that the bleeding is not your fault and nothing you have brought on either way.

After this many losses your GP/midwife can now help. Hopefully they'll prescribe progesterone ASAP (should be from as soon as you get a positive test). Is your TSH below 2 etc.

Fingers crossed for you!

MeAndZig · 08/04/2022 14:56

I had the biggest bleed at 5 weeks and one at 7 weeks and my pregnancy was fine. It was the scariest thing ever but your scans sound really positive. I hope and am sure you’ll be fine

ShareLove · 08/04/2022 15:11
