CRL at early scans

Hi everyone!

I’ve had a rescan at EPU today and seen baby with heartbeat 🥰 baby was 5.7mm and they said that makes it 6+1 but then other things I’ve seen suggest it should be later if it’s that big?

What was your CRL at early scans and how many weeks were you?

Hi @greenrj, congratulations! I was told the CRL at about 6+3 was 6.1mm so it seems in line with what you've been told too 😊

@Cruz86 how weird someone in my due date group on Facebook was measuring 3.1mm and told 6 weeks exactly haha

Really?! That seems quite small for 6 weeks! I'm now 10 weeks and at 9+3 it was 26mm. Crazy how much it grows!

I was put at 6w4d with 7.1mm CRL so it seems a little bit smaller in comparison. Not sure how how much growth my "extra" 3 days mean though...

All the machines must be set different haha

It's worked off an average and its why they don't date pregnancies so early on, better measurements are gained at 12 week scan

I was measuring 3.1mm and the sonographer told me that puts me at 6 weeks exactly?
My sister measured 2.5mm at 6 weeks and is now 30 weeks pregnant, so it seems it can vary quite widely.

They struggled to get a good view, I might assume I'm a few days further than they said then just because that would make so much more sense with my ovulation date!

I had a scan at what should of been 6+3 and was told crl was 3.1mm they said it put me at around 5 weeks. Had a little beating heart that looked nice and strong. I have a private scan booked in in a couple weeks. I had an ectopic last year so I'm constantly on edge atm.

I have a beautiful 9 month old little girl. Measurements were pretty spot on with early scan. She was born 14th December at 37+2 (induced early due to diabetes)
