I had a private scan due to bleeding and I am supposed to be 6+6 but she measured me at 6 weeks with heartbeat ? How is this possible ? I had transvaginal scan at 6 weeks exactly and was told it was measuring 6 weeks then and now I had private scan on belly , not trasvaginal , and now sayings it’s measuring 6 weeks still ? But still has heartbeat ?
Could it be because trasvaginal and belly scans can’t measure the same accuracy ? So worried thanks for any advice !

I know it’s hard but try not to worry, a heartbeat is a great sign.

At this stage it’s really tricky to measure accurately as it’s so small, I’m surprised they did an abdominal scan as internal ones are more accurate for early measurements.

I wasn't scanned abdominally until the detailed 12 week anomaly scan (and had the normal scans at 8 weeks and 11 weeks), the doctor said there's little point because a transvaginal scan is way more accurate early on.

Even at the 12 week detailed scan she switched to the transvaginal because the baby had moved and she couldn't see everything abdominally.

Transvagnal scans are more accurate early on. Baby is tiny at this stage, and I was told when I was pregnant with my son even a mm can change the date -/+ a week.

You very well may find you get the date changed at the 12 week scan again.
