Baby measuring small low heartbeat - miscarriage inevitable

Went for a scan yesterday morning baby should be 7+5 but has only grown in a week by 4mm making It 6+6. Heartbeat was slow. Feeling devastated as have to wait another week now until scan which I expect will show heartbeat has stopped. I don’t imagine there are any positive outcomes with this at all. This will be my 6th miscarriage. Feeling heartbroken and the world is continuing whilst my little ones heart will stop at some point 😞

I’m so sorry op this must be heart breaking

Kaw10 · 07/04/2022 11:44

I'm so sorry @Lila345 , I know the feeling.
Assuming you'll try again, are you on the normal stuff like baby aspirin to support early blood supply, and progesterone to support the early pregnancy before the placenta takes over? Are you under the care of the miscarriage clinic or EPU who would also advise these?

Lila345 · 07/04/2022 11:47

Thanks and yes we do have amazing support in our family and close friends but still no one else will feel our grief - only something we can each journey with I guess. Both of our jobs are also very demanding and dealing with life and death on a daily basis. I think that will be particularly tough this week and no one at work will know.

@Kaw10….yes I’m under the care of the EPU and taking progesterone. They’ve told me me to keep taking it until I go back for the scan next week which feels a bit pointless but know they have to advise it x
