Scans 2 week gap

Hi,
I had a scan on 1st April when I should have been 8 weeks and my baby is only measuring 6 weeks with a heartbeat.

They want to rescan me again in 2 weeks and won't scan me before, I am a week in to the wait and symptoms are lessening and I am so anxious so I wanted to get another scan to see if there is any growth or if the heartbeat has stopped. However when I go on a different scan website they say they strongly recommend a 2 week gap between scans so I am hesitating now.

Does anyone know if there is a reason for this? Am I better off waiting?

Thanks.

two weeks between scans is pretty standard even later on in pregnancy... my understanding is that this is due to sensitivities and differences in measuring. I'm not sure a second scan now will give you the reassurance you want

If there was a heart beat that is a good sign. Also there can easily be a week either side of when you think you conceived and the week you are measuring.

Measurements at that stage a miniscule.

Also re the symptoms ...please don't take that as any indication of pregnancy... I had absolutely nothing around 6-8 weeks.. but then the next 8 weeks after were dreadful.

Good luck x

Thanks for your replay @GeorgiePorge
It's just that I am rock solid on my dates as we only had sex once and I know when I ovulated.
Also I did have symptoms but they have just disappeared so don't feel overly optimistic.
I just feel so anxious and stressed about it I don't know how I am going to manage to get through another week.
