Cervical Erosion / Ectropion

My god I'm so fed up!

I have incompetent cervix, so had a stitch placed 8 days ago. Placed successfully no issues, however I've been bleeding bright red ever since.

I went to the Maternity Assessment Unit on Monday as it still hadn't stopped and they said the stitch is fine, but they can see cervical erosion, which is harmless and why I'm bleeding.

I still can't help but worry as it's just continuous red bleeding every day, anyone had similar?

@squishyegg
Sorry to hear that!

Was it continuously red? I think that's my concern it's always so fresh

No sometimes it would be brown too! But I had it up around 24 weeks I think. Then it died down.

I have had to preemies and although I didn't have a stitch on my second, I had cervical scans and measurements and was put on progesterone!

Hey, I've had an ectropian before I was pregnant, they found it because I was bleeding after intercourse and I was sent for colposcopy and biopsies as they thought it could have been cervical cancer. Biopsies were clear and I had a large ectropian. Bleeding was always bright red. They said its because the cells from inside the cervix start to grow outside and they are more delicate and sensitive and prone to bleeding. Hope this makes you feel better x

Yes I had this too with my first pregnancy. Found picking up anything a bit heavy like laundry would set it off, and yes it was red too. Mat appts also set it off with all the poking and prodding. Very stressful until I could feel kicks which was late due to an anterior placenta but once I got to the stage of feeling kicks I was less stressed as I could tell baby was OK. Good luck and try not to stress too much, but I know that's easier said than done! How many weeks are you?
