Has anyone taken Asprin during first trimester of pregnancy, or even longer, and baby been born healthy? I know low dosage is prescribed for pre-eclampsia often.

I had it in my second pregnancy from when I was trying to conceive as I had severe pre-eclampsia with my first. No issues here health wise and I'm sure it's what helped me go full term with my second baby. They were on the smaller side but nothing that was worrying

Also forgot to add I took it up until start of third trimester when BP meds took over in my second pregnancy

I had IVF and was prescribed it from after my egg collection. My midwife said to continue it so I'll still be taking it until 36 weeks.

You shouldn't be taking normal strength aspirin.

Low does aspirin is prescribed for many women during their pregnancy.

Why are you worried about this?

I took it from 12 weeks in my first pregnancy, then from BFP in my second. Got pre-eclampsia both times (mild, but still had to stay in hospital), but no other health issues. Stopped taking aspirin when I was put on BP medication instead. Both babies very well grown for gestation. DC1(girl) 7lb 5 (3.315kg) at 37+1 and DC2(boy) 8lb 1 (3.675kg) at 37+6.

If you've been advised to take it, you should.

Hi,
I'm curious also about this. I have read a lot about the studies regarding Low Dose Asprin daily during the first trimester to avoid miscarriage.
Has anyone else taken it for this reason?
I had one miscarriage earlier this year and TTC so thinking of starting to take it now

You'll find many women take it after early losses. It's part of the guidelines now I believe......or is that progesterone? Anyway, for some it's like a miracle drug for sticky beans! Just Google search "Mumsnet baby aspirin success" and you'll find loads of threads about it!

I've been on 150mg of aspirin that I take every evening & progesterone twice a day from my bfp due to 4 consecutive losses I've had 4 scans & baby doing well so far 🤞 I'm 10 wks tomorrow xx

Like @Kerrielouise84 I am on 150mg of aspirin, progesterone and now fragmin too as I’ve a blood clotting disorder. If you have been told to take it, take it. Even if you didn’t need it, it wouldn’t do you any harm.
