Scan Information

Hi,

I had a scan at 9 weeks, then I had one around 12 weeks to do the measurements and to give me an exact due date but my little one wouldn't stay still. I'm going back in tomorrow, I am around 16 weeks.

What happens at a 16 week scan? Will I be able to hear the heartbeat? And is it too early to see the gender?

Thanks in advance Smile

I have fortnightly scans from 16 weeks. We were told the sex at 16 weeks when I asked. Although they can not always tell. I am having identical twins and the first twin the consultant saw she thought maybe was a girl (not confident) then when she saw the second twin she was confident she was a girl. They will check the heartbeat, do this at every scan. But too early to check the structures of the heart for abnormalities etc at 16 weeks.

@Donimo thank you so much for the information, and congratulations on your beautiful twins. Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of your pregnancy 🥰
