(TMI) Early Pregnancy Discharge Concern

Hi everyone,

So sorry this sounds horrible, but I’m around 9 weeks pregnant and had brown spotting on two occasions for several days previously (was seen at EPU and all okay).

Around once/twice a day I have mucus type discharge which is sometimes clear or a bit cloudy, and sometimes has brown clumps in it too. The best way I can describe the consistency is like snot (so sorry!). Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? Should I be worried?

I had the strangest discharge of my life from litterly 3 weeks before I even know I was pregnant I was like wtf is all hhis weird discharge. I would get checked out over the brown discharge but if it’s clear or white and no odour I wouldn’t be worried

My discharge was bonkers for the first trimester. At one point it looked the the kind of glue they stick free samples to magazines with. Also had brown and stringy (got that checked out by the EPU, was to do with cervical ectropion). I think it's quite normal, but I totally get the stress.

@Flowerbug1994 @LittleGwyneth Thank you both that’s reassuring! It’s the not knowing what’s normal and what’s not which is so worrying, and we all have such different experiences too?! Very reassured that you two do at least relate a little thank you :)

Sorry for graphic image but is this right for early pregnancy it doesn’t smell. Thanks I’m a little worried.

@Hopingsobad i had horrendous discharge from 7 days post ovulation until about 14 weeks and now have a wild 14 month old little boy running round as long as it’s white with no smell or blood it’s so normal. If your really worried phone your local early pregnancy unit xx

That looks like thrush.

I had absolutely loads of discharge with my first pregnancy. None with my second.
