Low Cervix in Second Trimester

I haven’t got a clue how high up my cervix is normally, but since using progesterone pessaries I’ve become very aware of its placement. I started using them at 7 weeks due to bleeding and my cervix was low. After a few days of using them my cervix went higher than I could reach to put the pessary in. Now I’m 13 weeks pregnant and I’ve noticed my cervix keeps dropping low again. There have been a few mornings where it’s only an inch or so up and there’s barely room to get the pessary in. I haven’t had bleeding for about a week now but wondered if there were any reassuring stories of there who have had a low cervix at this stage and it’s gone on to rise up okay?

Just bumping this up as my cervix was very low again today. Could it be related to a UTI?

Hi! I know what you mean about becoming very aware of your cervix postition as I used the pessaries in ivf and to be honest i got abit reliant on it as when I got my postive I noticed how soft it went ! It did used to move around a lot though! It does rise up eventually and settle there I think. Could you ask the nurses at the clinic ?

Thank you for your response. I asked the consultant about it at the 12 week scan but she shrugged it off saying it would rise soon. But unfortunately it’s just got worse and I’m nearly 15 weeks. I’m due to talk to the midwife tomorrow so I’ll ask for her advice. Without using the pessaries I’d never have noticed it.
