39+4, 2nd membrane sweep done this morning

I had a second membrane sweep this morning and now (7 hours later) I have some period like cramps and period like back ache as well as slow leakage of clear fluid. Do I need to ring the hospital in this situation? And has anyone had labour start successfully after 2nd sweep at 39 weeks?

Hi there ! It’s entirely possible as sweeps can induce contraction which can lead to waters breaking. You should ring the maternity hospital , put on an unscented pad and they will probably ask you to come in and test to see if it’s your waters that have broke ! Or you could sleep on it and see how it goes later on tonight , contractions could become more regular or you could lose more waters.
