Hi new on here :) hoping for some reassurance! I am currently 12 weeks pregnant. I have been painting and decorating my home throughout my pregnancy. I have been using water based paints but will admit wasn’t great with ventilation as winter. I have only just read online that it’s a bit of a grey area and some people recommend avoiding in first trimester! Well I am freaking out I may have inadvertently caused damaged to baby. I appreciate there is nothing I can do now. Just wondering if anyone was in a similar position and everything turned out ok x

I also painted in first trimester and didn't have the luxury of opening windows because it was so windy those days. I'm only 14w but my 12w scan was after I painted and everything was fine. I don't think water based paints are too much of a prob..

I promise you, that's there is nothing that you can do in the first trimester that can compromise your baby, they survive if they are genetically capable, nothing you can do to keep them if there is something wrong and nothing you can do to harm them if they are ok, if you feel sick or tired that's your cue, remove yourself from that situation. If you are capable and not unwell keep on. I have had multiple misses and 2 perfect children, nothing was done differently. I understand your worry, but you're fine, I promise

Thank you for your reassuring and kind words! I text my midwife to just ask, but she didn’t reply, which hopefully means it’s a non issue! I had my 12 week scan and everything was ok, so hopefully it means all is well 🙂 thank you again x
