Baby's movements have changed

Hello

So. I've noticed over the last couple of days that baby's movements have changed.

Still very active but rather than kicks there's more pressure and roll sensations.

Still more than 10 an hour and seems to be active in the same time pattern.

I'm 38 weeks now, is this normal and due to less space being available or do you think I should go get checked out?

Any change go get checked out. It most likely is fine but only the midwife can to you that

ChickpeaPie · 29/03/2022 16:38

The idea of 10 an hour is completely out dated, who has told you to count 10 an hour??
Any change in movements please ring triage

CouldOfHadClass · 29/03/2022 16:38

Yes anything that seems different to you get it checked

Nikki037297 · 29/03/2022 20:15

The sensation of the movement does change as the baby gets squashed so can’t kick anymore it will just stretch and squirm. 10 movements an hour isn’t a thing anymore it’s what is normal for your baby. If baby is moving less or more it needs checked as both can mean baby is in distress.

Ratatoo · 29/03/2022 20:17

I would call your midwife

SheeceRearsmith · 29/03/2022 20:20

Have baby checked OP.

nocoolnamesleft · 29/03/2022 20:21

I'd call. Because it isn't worth taking any chance when it comes to something as important as your baby's health and safety.

Perpop · 29/03/2022 20:22

Always call. They will never be annoyed at you for checking your baby is safe.

I rang about the exact same thing late on in my pregnancy, baby’s movements felt gentler and more like rolls than forceful kicks. The midwife was quite rude actually and said they aren’t interested in how the movements feel as this can change later in pregnancy, just in the frequency of them. The frequency shouldn’t be less. That being said, I wouldn’t hesitate to phone them just to be sure.

cafedesreves · 29/03/2022 21:59

Definitely call, I called so many times and never regretted it (baby was fine)

babydays123 · 29/03/2022 22:28

Thanks everyone.
I called as suggested and have just got back from triage where they monitored.

All is well and I've got peace of mind ♥️

Well done for going - I know it can be hard to convince yourself that you're not just being silly. V glad you're okay - I'm also 38 weeks, roll on baby time!
