Cervical screening when pregnant

I'm due my 2nd baby in October. I'm due my cervical screening in July (3 years since my previous one). I haven't had a screening since my first baby was born so I'm a bit concerned leaving it longer than the 3 years. The midwife said I'll need to wait until January 2023 to have it done but from my research I've read it's perfectly safe to have a Smear test when pregnant...

Anyone have any experiences or advice? Xx

I've been told it's safe but throws up anomalies which will likely cause worry and more testing.
I also haven't had my cervical screening for a number of years due to pregnancy.

Mine's due whilst pregnant and was before with DD (who I had just over three years ago). I had mine done at my 6 week postnatal check up.

I’ve been told by midwife I can’t have it when pregnant

It's generally done 3 months post partum in the UK and not done whilst pregnant.

No they won't do it whilst you're pregnant, I was due one in November as my smear in 2020 was HPV positive, I've had to wait until 12 weeks after giving birth.

They won't do it in the UK. I've always had one when pregnant in Germany and it freaks me out to be honest!

It's likely to be less accurate when pregnant so they won't do it. You need to be three months post partum

There's no way I'd be letting someone poke my cervix with that brush thingie when I was pregnant. Surely it can't be safe.

Same as what others have said, mine was due in January but the midwife at my booking appointment said they don't do them during pregnancy as it can produce inaccurate results. She said it will be done after the baby is born.

I was due mine in September, didn't get round to booking and then fell pregnant in November. I checked with the midwife and as others have said will need to wait until 3 months post partum

Mine was due during pregnancy too and the midwives told me to make sure I booked in when I was 3 months postpartum as they wouldn't let you book in when pregnant. I think my GP asked me at the 12 week check if I had booked myself in as a reminder too.
