3D scans - are they worth the money?

Booked in for a 3D scan at the Portland at a cost of £250. Just wondering if the general consesus is that these scans are worht the money. The sample pictures I have seen don't seem that clear. Is there also a risk in having too many scans?

I would say no but then again I am a tight arse!

You will have it for the next 20 years at home so why would you want to see it now!! but that is just my consensus and I would never pay out that sort of money to see my baby early.

My SIL is paying for one but I think she is crazy!

just mho!!

mmm, sort of agree. It's more for me than anyone else - want to know what's going on in there and how things are shaping up! Could also be quite reassuring as well if you can see that the face looks normal - I'm still tormenting myself about various things that could have gone wrong.

Gangle, we had one with our dd it was fab and worth every penny.
Ater gettign all excited at seeing 12 + 20 week hospital scan our 3D scan was just astonishing. To see this little person, actually looking like a little person rather than a grainy profile....we were transfixed.

Will defo have with imaginery baby no.2, if we have enough cash.

Im 34w and have had 3 x 3d scans with this pregnancy. One at 20w, 28w & 32w. It was amazing to see my little man looking at us. We even saw his hair! At the last one he kept sticking out his tongue, smiling, yawning and opening his eyes now and again. To be honest i only had the scans as i was finding it hard to accept the pregnancy due to having a previous EP & MMC. For myself id say there definatly worth the money although mine was alot less that what your paying. Had it in Nottingham at www.windowtothewomb.com (or maybe.co.uk) was £75. You get printed pics, pics on CD Rom and a DVD.
