Cramps at 26 weeks

Hi everyone!

I'm 26+1 and suffering a bit with period-like cramps and low grade pain in my lower back. It got uncomfortable enough in the middle of the night to wake me up and make me take a paracetamol. My bump also suddenly seems to have grown enough for me to really notice the difference in the past couple of days!

Just wondering if this seems like normal growing pains or whether I should ask my midwife if all is okay? I'm not worried yet, just... a bit weirded out by it.

It's been a while since I was pregnant but I have a vague recollection of asking my midwife about the same sort of thing around this time and she said it was normal because of my uterus growing to accommodate the baby... Or something like that. I'd always give your midwife a call if you're worried though. Flowers

I would call. Unlikely you're in early labour, but possible. 26 weeks is viable so get it checked out.

Sounds normal to me especially with bump growth

Thanks, all. I'm not alarmed by it (yet!) or in too much pain, but I think I'll call in the morning just to double check.

It hadn't even occurred to me that it could possibly be early labour. I bloody hope not this early.
