What weight was your '10th percentile' baby at birth?

I know the 10th percentile is different for every mum/baby but just out of curiosity!? I'm also aware that growth scans can be wildly inaccurate Grin

This wasn't something I experienced with my first, who was 7lbs 9 @ 39 weeks.

I am TINY this time around, @ almost 32 weeks... feels very alien & I am concerned but the midwife's/sonographers etc seem happy.

My baby was 13th and then his growth dropped and I was induced at 38 weeks. He was 6lb 8oz!

SkyLarkDescending · 28/03/2022 06:22

First DD was 9th centile and came at 38 weeks. She weighed 6lb 2.

CheekyHobson · 28/03/2022 06:26

Mine was 3rd percentile and came out at 40+12 at 8.65 kg so go figure.

CheekyHobson · 28/03/2022 06:26

Lol sorry 3.65 kg, a little over 8 pounds haha

I had the opposite! My 90th centile baby (told would be 9lbs at 40w) was born at 38+2 at 6lbs 7oz

My 50th centile baby was born at 41+1 and he was 9lbs 1/2oz. He wouldn’t fit in newborn/0-1 and went straight into 0-3 (and then 3-6 months at 6 weeks old!)

My 11th percentiler was 5lbs 11oz. That was exactly what the obstetric sonographer had predicted 4 days before.

He grew quickly though.

DD was on the 9th centile for her first year - She weighed 7lb 6oz when she was born.

Louisechats · 28/03/2022 11:22

My 10th centile baby 6lb 10 at 39+4

Trinacham · 28/03/2022 11:25

If my memory serves me correctly baby was 10th percentile at one scan (when he'd previously been 50th). He was born 8 days early at 38+6 weighing 6lb 7oz

My DS dropped down from around the 40th centile at 20 weeks, to the 19th at a growth scan when I was about 32 weeks. Born at 39+3 weighing 6lb 4oz.

He's still small now, at 2 years old, but perfectly healthy Smile

Littlemissprosecco · 28/03/2022 15:44

She was 39+5 weeks and 6lb 8oz.
She’s 20 now 5ft 7, slender but no longer small. She was small until 13, then caught all her friends up

Pebble3 · 28/03/2022 15:47

Born at 39 weeks and weighed 7lbs

FTMFML · 28/03/2022 15:54

She was 3rd percentile at 33W and 10th at 37W born at 39W 7,3lbs

Good luck op 😊

My baby was 9th centile and born at 5lb 12oz (38 weeks). I was due to be induced at 39w due to her size, except she made an appearance of her own accord before then. She is long (75th centile for length) but very slight. We had a lot of feeding issues and she had sepsis after birth, so she dropped to below the 0.4th centile, but at 9 months, she is now hovering between 9th and 25th centile again, so it does seem to be her natural position so far.
