Hi guys, starting to feel like things are getting closer. Feel I am in a in between stage of not much happening other than lots of sleeping!!
When did you start organising the bag and washing baby clothes? Feel I should be staring to do some stuff as currently being very lazy!

I washed clothes at 34 weeks, only just done my hospital bag now (baby's not mine 😂) I'm 38 weeks on Monday! Should really be doing mine now

I washed all the things at 34 weeks thinking i had loads of time. Hadn't finished packing when my waters went at 37+5 and DD born in a bit of a hurry. Luckily DH managed to finish sorting everything whilst i was being admitted. So my advice would def be go for sooner rather than later! 🥴

I hit 32 weeks tomorrow and in the last few days my hips have given up and are agony, my very big transverse baby is making it hard to move and I'm absolutely exhausted so I have washed everything apart from cot sheets today, put it all away, almost packed mine and baby's hospital bags and done a ton of stuff for the nursery. Nowhere near done but definitely broke the back of things today. If I don't do it now/soon I might not be able to manage as I get bigger

I washed all baby clothes at 32 weeks and set up the changing station (basic nappies ect!) and I had a bag packed in the car and the car seat base fitted at 34 weeks x

I think from 30+ weeks I just washed everything as soon as it arrived in house. So I could slowly organise into either drawers in various sizes or into bag later ( think around 36 weeks)

One tip midwife gave was not to worry about packing anything for baby before 36 weeks, as if baby did come early they wouldn’t be dressed and straight out the hospital the same day so no rush. Just pack basics for yourself

Pack phone charger/ snack/ spare change into pouch now to take if you have hospital appointment, can take ages

About 32 weeks I think both times. Although 2nd time I didn't bother washing any baby clothes. Washed all new things for DC1 till he was about 8 months. Never washed anything for DC2, no difference I could see.

I was well organised with washing and was doing a bit at a time between 35-38 weeks (we had LOADS given to us so was a lot to get through!). Hospital bag wasn't packed when I went into labour at 38+6😬 people kept saying get a move on but I didn't listen. It was all mostly laid out and ready but I just hadn't packed it so it just got shoved in when we had to rush off!

As baby was born at 31 weeks ....never.

ArtfulScreamer · 26/03/2022 20:50

With my first I was very organised at about 34 weeks as I had a spare room to store the packed bags in (she was born at 39+4) with my second I had to go up in the loft whilst contracting at 37+3 to find all the stuff I needed and pack it! Packing my bag was on my to do list for the weekend after my son was born!

36 weeks . I probably would have waited longer as both our others were overdue but I went in to check reduced movement so thought safer to have a packed bag with me in case

Hiddenvoice · 27/03/2022 08:22

I’m 36 weeks and have only just started to pack my bags. I started writing lists of what I needed a couple of weeks ago and slowly been putting everything together.
I’ve been washing baby clothes and lines since around 32 weeks but it’s just one wash a week of things I’ll need. I’ve not washed any little outfits as I’m unsure of the baby’s size and someone suggested keeping tags on them sk they can be exchanged if they are too small.

I'm nearly 34 weeks and have one week left at work. I was planning to leave all the washing and final prep for maternity leave, but with the glorious weather we've had I've washed everything the past two weekends. I've started collecting a pile for the hospital bag, but not packed it yet. Might try to do that today! I had it in my head that I'd like it done by 30 weeks, but then when I realised I won't get all the washing done by then anyway I've just put it off again and again... My due date FB group have already had a few early arrivals so it's probably a smart idea to get it done.

lljkk · 27/03/2022 09:32

Never washed baby clothes -- if you're gonna do it, why not do it as soon as you buy them so you know it's done.

Bag was getting organised from about 32 weeks.

Furmummy · 27/03/2022 18:20

Thank you all for your replies, I have made a start today on the washing, and I will probably but things in drawers ready to do straight not a bag of things happen early. Appreciate all the replies xx

In labour with my first

Dyra · 27/03/2022 22:36

For DC2, I had mine packed around 30-32 weeks. With DC1, I had everything bought at 36 weeks, and was planning on packing at 36+3. Guess who got admitted to hospital at 36+1 and wasn't allowed home until after her baby was born?... I wasn't about to make that mistake a second time. Which was fortunate when I was admitted at 36+2.
