Anyone else just received their first BFP? What were your TWW symptoms?

Hi all, just received my first ever BFP and I'm both in shock and awe. I am 12dp5dt (medicated, frozen) after a round of IVF from last year.

I'm in a same-sex relationship. My wife and I decided to start the process almost three years ago now, back when I was 27. After all the tests I was told that IUI would be ideal for me as I had no known fertility issues.

Well. Six failed IUIs later, £20k spent with nothing to show, a pandemic, a terminal diagnosis given to my beloved mother, her subsequent death, the freezing of 11 embryos after a round of IVF... My wife and I sat at the kitchen table today and watched as within seconds a line appeared on the test.

I know it's still early days. I resisted testing because I was so terrified to know - at least if I didn't test I could live in the realm of 'could be' for just a little bit longer.

I wrote down all my symptoms which I'll copy below. I'll admit - I have found the medication involved in my FET absolutely brutal. I have a history of depression and wowzers, did my mental health take an absolute dive. Not helped by the fact I'm still grieving my beautiful Mum.

Symptoms below:

Day 0: some cramping. Slept for hours in the afternoon.
Day 1: some cramping.
Day 2: some cramping. Heavy fatigue. Hungry. Very sore boobs. Want sugar.
3: extreme emotion. Cramping. Sore boobs. Tired
4: angry. Tired. Headache. Fast heartbeat. Metal taste for a bit.
5: sore boobs. Headache. Lower appetite. Slight metallic taste in mouth.
Day 6: out of breath. Feel sick walking up hill. Tired. Crampy. Extreme emotion.

1. Metallic taste. Cramps. Fatigued. Dry mouth.
2. Extremely fatigued. Sore boobs. Cramps.
3. Sore lower back. Some cramps. Very sore boobs. Sore lower back above tailbone

10. Utter despair. Life is has lost colour and meaning. Peeing a lot. Exhausted but can't sleep. Very low cramping, right above vaj. Sort of burning. 11. Headache. Extreme fatigue. Metal taste in mouth. Emotional. 12: sore boobs. Sore lower back. Cramps. Dreamed I got about ten positives. Kept waking up thinking it was real. THEN I GOT A REAL POSITIVE AHHH

I'm also 12dp5dt today (although fresh, not frozen) and also have a BFP- first ever! It's not my official test day until tomorrow, but my clinic are shut on Sundays.

Symptoms wise, I couldn't really be sure to be honest. I was told by our clinic to disregard everything during the TWW as everything would be the result of the progesterone pessaries i'm on rather than actual pregnancy symptoms, so to not symptom spot or wind myself up if symptoms came and went.

I have been particularly tired though, like eyes drooping late afternoon and ready for bed by 8pm each day tired. I'm usually a night owl.

I've also had sore boobs on and off. It was much worse at the beginning.I've had some pretty stabby cramps too.

I'm at a bit of a loss of what to do now though, the last few days have dragged unbelievably. Longest 2 weeks ever

This is an old thread but having spent the past 2 weeks manically searching for symptoms associated specifically with the IVF TWW, rather than the non-hormoned normal TWW... I figured it might serve as useful to someone else going equally as mad, to list my symptoms before i got a BFP. It's a particularly hard 2ww because the progesterone mimics certain pregnancy symptoms. I am on Utrogestan Vaginal.

I only ended up with one fertilised embryo so i didn't have high hopes! I had a day 3 transfer as a result.

First few days - boobs got bigger and tender/painful but that was probably the progesterone
Days 5-7 - tender boobs, started to feel twinges that i thought might be implantation. Not really cramps or anything
Day 8 - had first brief wave of very gentle nausea. I remembered this feeling from my last ectopic pregnancy - a weird feeling in my throat, like a lump in my throat but it's not a bad feeling - associated with the slight nausea. Extreme hunger - like when you need to eat you REALLY need to eat
Days 9 and 10 - Intense ability to smell.. smelling a bottle of wine made me feel sick. Still tender/painful boobs. Suddenly very body-tired easily .. extreme fatigue. Intense hunger. The sense of smell element was the reason at this point i knew i was pregnant, because that's not a symptom with the progesterone medications. This is a gross point but - I also suddenly found the medication much easier to insert... (it's inserted vaginally).. and i think this was because your vagina becomes softer when you're pregnant cos the blood runs to it. I could also tell my cervix was suddenly very high.
Day 11 - i got very shaky after a cup of tea this day
Days 12 and 13 - Absolutely NO SYMPTOMS whatsoever, even my boobs weren't hurting anymore. I assumed whatever pregnancy was there, was not there anymore. EXCEPT i had a sore throat... which can sometimes be flagged as an early symptom.
Days 14, 15 - extreme fatigue, noticed darker nipples and darker veins on my boobs. A very very mild nausea came back which i can only describe as being a bit like when you've taken ecstacy and you're in the chilled out almost-gone part of the comedown! It's a weirdly nice feeling
Day 16 - BFP !

Hey ladies thought I’d share some help to anyone looking at this thread going through IVF

first round -chemical
second round embryo didn’t look that good but they put it in anyway -it didn’t stick
third round we went with a different fertility clinic the dr was amazing resulted in now a bfp 👶🏼
only difference the third round was that the dr included hcg shots day before transfer & day after the 5 day hatching blastocyte

symptoms from day to day

0 of transfer- that night had a massive migraine which made me throw up put it down to the fertility acupuncture I had done twice that day

1dp- mild cramping tierd
2dp- mild cramping tired
3dp- slight twinges, thirsty , pulling sensations
4dp- uterus seems to be heating up and heat flashes around my body more tired
5dp- more cramping at night this time more intense then what felt like a fire going on in my womb area
6dp woke up feeling a lil bit neasious very tired
7dp- the sick feeling again while taking the bins out I couldn’t stand the smell cramps, body heat
8&9- breathlessness, needing to eat to stop the sick feeling every few hours
day 10 worst day for symptoms
day 11- bfp at 286 hcg level !!🎉

I'm currently 7DPO.. As we're TTC from 3 years and now i'm in my TWW period.. I am experiencing some symptoms from the day right ofter ovulation.. I've listed down my symtoms as i've noticed some changes this cycle.. Hope this will be my month xx

I don't know if i should keep my hopes up for this cycle. But i really want it to be this time. Fingers crossed! cannot wait to test. Xx

Hey ladies!
I'm 5 days late with my periods.. Having a lot of white CM.. Tested 2 days after missed period and came negative tested again and again negative! Today moring i got a veryy faint test line .. Does it hsppen with anyon else and they got bfp after that??? if i should keep my hopes up.. And should go for a blood work tmrww!
