Hi all, I’ve felt baby move from around 18 weeks and I’m now 23 weeks. Baby generally active in evenings so that was what I was used to. Two days ago I noticed v little movement in the evening and I was concerned so went into maternity unit and got a scan and everything was perfect - baby very active, good heart rate etc. We had to wait 5 hours to be seen and by then baby was kicking away on the scan (around 3am!!)

The next day I took note of the movements and they were kicking away from around early lunchtime until 6pm and then again quieter in the evening.

Has the baby just changed their sleep cycle or something? Baby has generally been quite active and moves a lot it’s just there now seems to be a change in when the movements are.

Is this ok? Anyone experienced same?

My midwife has said they don't settle into a pattern until 28 weeks, she recommended not to start tracking and monitoring the pattern until 24-26 weeks to avoid causing unnecessary anxiety. This was after me also doing a late night trip to triage worried because I hadn't felt her move at what was her usual time (all was fine).

Always check with your midwife to be sure (rather than rely on MN) but if they are still active and you can still feel movement it sounds more like they are still getting into a pattern rather than anything to worry about.
