Pregnancy Sickness

Hi Smile
I am looking for some advice. I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant, from when I was 6 weeks until 12 weeks I suffered really bad vomiting (6/7 times a day). I’ve felt better the last 2 weeks but the last few days I’ve went back to feeling the same, constant nausea and vomiting loads too.. Sad

This is my first baby, no one has said it is Hyperemesis gravidarum but I think it could be? And if so, does anyone have any advice? And how long their sickness lasted for?

Thanks in advance

It definitely sounds like it to me. I have Hyperemesis and my worst days I'm sick 7-8 times a day.

There's a thread for those of us suffering which you might find useful:

Hyperemesis Support http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4408652-Hyperemesis-Support

Lots of good advice on there Smile

Oh god. I am so sorry you are going through the same, if you don't mind me asking how many weeks along are you? I've been told it gets better by 20 weeks but I'm taking that with a pinch of salt. HmmGrin

As @ohCARP mentioned, come and join us on the hyperemesis thread! You will find a lot of good advice on there :)

It sounds like HG, and unfortunately it can come and go. How were you managing before? Any medication? I’m currently 12 weeks and been suffering since 5 weeks. I’m on medication which has actually really helped, but the nausea is still quite bad :(

@ChloeHel thanks Chloe! I've been in hospital getting anti sickness injections a lot. I'm on Cyclizine tablets at the moment, it does help with the nausea but unfortunately not the vomiting Sad I hope you aren't feeling too bad, I know how horrible it is. Feel better soon xx

It sounds like it could potentially be HG.

It can taper off into the second trimester, for some people it does stick around but where you're at now, it sort of peaked again for me.

Easier said than done but try and focus on the end result if you can and take each day as it comes in the meantime. It's really tough so remember to be proud of your strength dealing with this.

The Hyperemesis Support thread has been a great support both this pregnancy and my last. I'm sure you'll get loads of support on there if you pop on.
