Can't stop cleaning the house. Nesting full flow!

I started maternity leave last week and since I've started I've made myself a list of things that NEED to be done. So far I've deep cleaned all kitchen cupboards, deep cleaned the bathroom, bought all new shower curtain, shower mat, towels, and threw so much crap away, cleaned out my fridge, today I've deep cleaned the oven and kitchen and I need to do the skirting boards and hoover out the sofa but trying to not over do myself at the same time. I've gone through so many cleaning products since I've been on a nesting spree. But if I don't do it I can't stop thinking about it. My partner is losing his head with me constantly telling me to relax, but I keep telling him the house needs to be perfect and it's not perfect.

But I'm scared I'm going to send myself into early labour here😂

I am getting that way. Not started mat leave yet (35 weeks Sunday) but I am down to 3 days a week at work because of various health issues, and I just cannot stop cleaning! And gardening. The garden has been a state for the last year as we had an extension done, so I'm desperately trying to get it looking nice for when baby arrives. DH does attempt to help me but he doesn't do it right so I end up re doing everything!

How far gone are you?

missrainbowbaby · 24/03/2022 13:34

@Sprat12 fully agree with the DH part😂 he really does try. Especially with the kitchen cupboards as it meant me climbing on a chair to reach the tops and he did it, but I was right there observing which cloth, how much spray, the correct spray😂

And I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. Finished for maternity leave at 34 weeks as I'm being induced at 38 weeks so wanted some time at home rather than have little to nothing (that would stress me out) before I go in to have baby girl

I’ve been like this for a few weeks, and still haven’t gone into labour. Painted the downstairs. I even went to IKEA the other day, loaded myself up with furniture and came home to build it all 😂 still waiting….. I’ve sorted out the pantry (twice) and Marie Kondo’d EVERYTHING we own. DP is being very patient, but nothing is encouraging this baby out! Due on Saturday

@Derbee that's made me feel a sense of relief you have been very active and haven't sent yourself into labour😂 good luck for due date, hopefully you aren't waiting to long over🤞🏼

It is my due date and I’ve been spring cleaning hysterically for the last 3 hours! 🤣 I just wish there was a freeze button to keep the house looking pristine!

missrainbowbaby · 24/03/2022 14:38

@Lzgs the freeze button would be for me to live alone and my partner not return because soon as he's back it seems like my show home is a wreck😂😂 good luck and hope you aren't waiting to long🥰
