Urine infection showed up in urine sample but I feel fine?

At my booking appointment the midwife asked for a urine sample and this was over a week ago, Iv just had a text this morning saying an Infection showed up in my urine sample and there will be antibiotics waiting at the pharmacy for me. I haven’t felt at all like I have an infection. Can we get infections in pregnancy and not even notice?

It's possible to get a uti and feel fine - it happened to me a few weeks ago. I was seeing a doctor for something unconnected, and he said he'd like a urine test to check for uti. I was very definite that I didn't have one - I felt great and I Knew that my urine was crystal clear . Sure enough, a couple of days later I got a message from his receptionist to come and pick up a script for antibiotics, since I had a uti. It can happen to anyone, any time.

I’m not sure but I would take them if they say you have a UTI, I had one and went from feeling fine to them causing contractions over the space of about 4 hours. I ended up in hospital! I was 25 weeks ish.

Best to nip it in the bud when it's picked up early, as it can cause pre term labour if left untreated

I had pretty much constant UTIs during both pregnancies, to the extent I ended up with enlarged kidneys, but felt fine the whole time (well, as fine as anyone does in pregnancy!)

Oddly enough, I occasionally get them when not pregnant and feel awful with them.

@WeNeedSirSamuelVimesOnTheCase that sounds scary! And you felt fine? That’s odd I do feel fine and if this was from a week ago and I still don’t feel like I have an uti as Iv had my fair share of them and they are dreadful when I do get them the burning and pains in my lower tummy the feeling like I need a wee constantly but there is nothing which I am extremely greatful for it would be awful having all that ontop of my pregnancy symptoms

I felt fine - very tired throughout, but that's pretty normal, and the babies were fine. They just kept a closer eye on me.
