Trapped Wind Nightmare @ 18 Weeks - S.O.S

Hi everyone, this is my first post and is probably a strange one. I say that because I've typed so many things in to Google about my symptoms and simply cannot find any posts relating to my issue :(

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and I'm experiencing THE WORST back and rib pain. This has been ongoing for a few months and started early pregnancy but it wasn't until recently that I realised the pain at the top on my back links to the pain in my ribs and is trapped wind! It only occurs when I sit down and it just turns up within minutes of being seated, in the same place, every time! I could be on the sofa watching tv, in my car driving to work, in the bath trying to relax or at my desk at work and there it is just poking away at my insides causing a very unpleasant feeling. It's constant, if I burp it sometimes releases it BUT only for a second and then it feels like a pocket of air just pops back up and sticks right in my back and ribs and oh my god it's so painful, uncomfortable and annoying! WHEN WILL IT END?!

This is in addition to my very sore lower back which is definitely not trapped wind!

Has anyone else experienced this or going through the same thing? I'd love to know what to do to relieve the discomfort as I spend a lot of time travelling to see family in the car and I work at a desk which of course does not help when I'm sat down a lot! Although I do get up and walk around as much as I can.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

From a very sore and uncomfortable pregnant lady!

Xx

@L251090
I’m 15 weeks pregnant and I’ve had diarrhoea for the past five days or so. I was woken up in the early hours of this morning with trapped wind like pain. My stomach feels really tender and I think it’s a combination of having diarrhoea and the trapped wind. I rang the midwives but they said all they would recommend is peppermint and paracetamol and to phone my GP. I’m currently waiting a call back. I’ve even cried as I’ve felt so sorry for myself.

@littlefirecar ah honestly it's a nightmare. Dr can't do anything! It may not even be trapped wind it's starting to feel like it's something else but my midwife has said just to ride the wave ... if the wave is 4 months then I'm not sure what else to do. The pain is horrendous!

@Rachelw730 I feel you! Paracetamol really does not cut it! Todays been so painful. Normally just walking or standing up helps but even that hasn't made a bit of difference. Such a weird pain almost feels like something digging in to my organs from the inside but it can't be the baby it's too early and they're too small! Hope you get sorted soon what did the dr say?

@L251090 I feel fine now. She told me to take Gaviscon and there wasn’t much more she could tell me to take. I drank some hot water and laid on my side for a while. The pain was horrendous. I’m so glad it’s gone now! Hope you feel better soon x
