You won't know the gender for a few years yet, assuming you believe this is something people can choose for themselves.
It might be possible to ascertain the sex from the scan though, if you're interested in finding that out.

Can't you just ask the sonographer at 20 weeks?

The sonographer wasn't certain so wouldn't say

It would be impossible to guess from the 20 week scan of the baby like this, unless you had a potty shot. You can make a guess from the 12-13 week scan due to nub theory.
