I'm busy packing my hospital bag and wondered about the clothes I pack to travel home in. How big is your tummy after giving birth? Is it still as large or how many months preggers do you still look? I'm not daft enough to know I can squeeze back into my pre pregnancy clothes just wondered what's best to wear. Any tips for this first time mum is greatly appreciated.

it'll still be pretty big - so I'd make sure you've got something a little larger than your pre-pregnancy clothes. And preferablly something that's elasticated rather than button/zip - as if you do end up with a CS it could prove uncomfortable on the scar.

tracky bottoms, or strechy jersey things iykwim!

Kneehighinnappies · 06/01/2008 16:35

You want something very comfertable to wear, so track suit bottoms flat shoes and warm jumper (if it is still winter)
if you end up with a CS as I did I couldn't fit into my shoes as my feet were so swolen up from lying around for days and I had to wear Dh's tracksuit bottoms as I was very sore afterwards, I say always prepare for the worst, (not that as Cs is the worst) in any case you won't shrink back for a while so be prepaired.

massive granny pants are much better than the disposable ones

after both DCs i wore big pants and drawstring cotton/linen trousers in a dark colour

and shoes !! went to hospital with DD in jewelled sandals which got ruined as i left them under the delivery bed DH brought me some trainers! could not get one toe in them.. went home in slippers.... so something like crocs or flip flops rather than anything that laces up as you will be amazed how swollen your feet can be after birth, especially if you are in a couple of days

Ah yes lulumama massive granny pants, i forgot that, they have FANTASTIC tesco value pants for about £1 i think, just buy a couple of sizes bigger than your normal size.

hi ladies, I asked dh to bring me more pants when i was in after cs & he turned up with the smallest skimpy thongs, but he must have had to fight his way through the largest pants in my drawer because i know all my little pants were tucked away at the back, i am now pregnant again & am loving my big pants, have packed about 20 pairs of cheap asda full briefs just in case.
