Bleeding after a sweep?

Has anyone had quite a bit of bleeding after a sweep and labour started soon after?

I had a sweep yesterday lunchtime and when I got home I noticed I was bleeding, bright red fresh blood that was dripping into the toilet - like a medium period. I also lost a golf ball sized clot.

I got seen at triage and they looked at my cervix, did an exam and the usual monitoring. Baby is happy and no more bleeding since we got home last night. But I’m wondering if this has happened to anyone else and they’ve gone into labour within the 48 hours? - I’m a bit skeptical and worried about having another sweep now as it was quite a scary ordeal - typically the actual sweep wasn’t painful at all and she was able to feel his head quite easily despite only being 1cm.

On the monitor I was having some tightenings that had a little crampiness with them but nothing to get too excited over otherwise I don’t think they would have sent me home (higher risk pregnancy and need continuous monitoring in labour)

I’m 39+3 today. I had my first sweep at 38 weeks due to going for a vbac they want to avoid me going over and needing induction.

Please tell me it will happen soon?!

I had a sweep at 39 weeks and had quite a bad bleed after it! But then nothing happened. Went in for another sweep the week after at 40 weeks, no blood after this one and lost my mucus plug a few hours later and went into labour that night. The first sweep was really painful, but I didn’t feel a thing with the second one!

I can’t say if it was the sweep or not as DH and I did the deed that day too haha. Desperate times.
