My ds has Covid, I've been testing negative (going to do another when I get up) but I have had such a rough night, I've barely slept if not for weeing very bloody 10 mins it's because I've got so much pressure in my face 🙁 my ears, teeth and side of face are hurting, I've got a sore funny throat and just feel like shit in general .
Does this sound like Covid? The last two days I've done nothing but sneeze aswell

How pregnant are you? Sorry you are feeling so unwell. Everyone I know who has felt awful has only felt that bad for a couple of days but even that feels like an eternity when you’re in the middle of it.

Mumdiva99 · 22/03/2022 06:26

You poor thing. How for pg are you? Have you had your vaccines?

Paracetamol was definitely my friend when I had covid. But I can understand you being a bit wary if you are only newly PG. However, it is allowed in PG. But speak to your midwife if you are worried.

If you have had jabs hopefully you will be on the mend very soon. It will be short and sweet.

Make sure to drink little and often even if you can't eat much. Good luck.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 22/03/2022 06:26

I'm 11+1.
Yes hopefully this passes soon, I never ever get ill I'm one of those people that dodge everything and I actually cried to my partner earlier because I feel so bad right now

OP posts:
thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 22/03/2022 06:27

Thank you. Yes I've had all 3 jabs

If you have a temperature then I would absolutely recommend paracetamol as bringing it down is important if you’re pregnant. Are you vaccinated? If so then your risk of being very ill low. Might be worth calling your midwife for further advice on treatment.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 22/03/2022 06:30

No I don't have a temperature atm.
It's all in my head, i actually feel like I've got a sinus infection

I had very similar symptoms that came on suddenly last weds. The congestion was just awful. I bought a mini humidifier thing from Amazon and it honestly helped so much - I hadn’t been able to sleep at all until I got it. Hope you feel better soon x

MissDynamite23 · 22/03/2022 06:35

Breathe right strips were a life saver for me when my nose was really stuffy. They just help to open the nasal passages a bit more!

linerforlife · 22/03/2022 06:35

Take paracetamol. It's fine to take it in pregnancy and you'll be surprised how much it helps.

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/03/2022 06:39

Had similar symptoms and 3 days of temperature. Then a cough. Was 10 weeks pregnant.
I used paracetamol and otrivin nose spray. I know it's nto recommended but I just coulsnt breathe and the pressure in my head was too much.

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/03/2022 06:40

Also was using the room humidifier all day and night!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 22/03/2022 06:54

Might have a look into humidifiers! It's the pressure in my face, head and nose feels the worst, it's just like a sinus infection. And also the drip down my throat tastes really sweet Confused horrible

I feel you! I had it a few weeks ago when I was 7/8 weeks I’m 11 weeks now. It started out with a dry throat but I just had a feeling that was the start of covid: I kept testing and they were all negative from the Friday up until the Wednesday. By the Wednesday I felt awful. Very chesty and achy. Like a very heavy cold. By the Friday- Saturday I felt much better and my test was then negative so I only tested positive for 4 days but the cold seamed to last for weeks but I felt much better in myself by the Saturday. Obviously being pregnant there wasn’t much I could take and my whole body ached so much and I couldn’t even be bothered to have a bath as I knew that would help. It was a very rough few days. I hope your feeling better very soon and it doesn’t get too bad for you

sunshine423 · 23/03/2022 06:08

Hi, I had it when I was 28 weeks but gladly did not have many symptoms - it sounds like you're having a rough time, I hope you feel better soon. The only thing I had was the really bad sinus pain and paracetamol/steam were doing nothing. The GP prescribed 2 nasal sprays which made an instant difference.

MsSquiz · 23/03/2022 06:30

I didn't have covid, but I did have awful sinus pain around that time in pregnancy.
I found a hot flannel across the top of my face helped, as did a hot steamy shower or a facial steamer if you have one?
And paracetamol will help ease the symptoms

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 23/03/2022 07:05

The paracetamol isn't touching the sinus pain or headaches, it's just helping to take the body aches away.
Been up since 2am just don't know what to do with myself, I am so so congested and can't have nothing

OP posts:
thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 23/03/2022 07:10

I've tired hot compresses and they don't help. Also tried Kool n soothe and they aren't doing anything either. I'm tempted to call the doctor and see if I can have anything prescribed. I could probably cope if it wasn't for this blocked up head my sinus' are so painful

Poor you op. It's so crap not being able to take much. I always recommend neilmed sinus rinse on here. It's been a lifesaver for me throughout this pregnancy. I had horrible sinus infections during my previous pregnancy but the rinse seems to have nipped it in the bud this time. You can also use some sprays -ask GP.
Humidifier also helps lots too.

20viona · 23/03/2022 09:47

Every single symptom you have, I have too it's crap! Just gotta ride it out I suppose on paracetamol which do nothing 🤣

strawberrysummer19 · 23/03/2022 09:53

I had this and unfortunately it lasted a good week before I started to feel better

I tested positive when I was 19wks
I was very similar to you, so ill and left with a nasty sinus infection. I did take paracetamol here and there but I don't think it did anything

I called the GP who said I can't take anything but try a steam bowl so I used to put some Vicks in it
It really helps with the congestion

I also bought a sea salt natural nasal spray from boots and that just helps clear it all out also and can use it in pregnancy

I also bought an Olbas oil stick but read mixed reviews if this was safe (I think it is ?) but used about 3 sniffs all in all!

Mine cleared in about 7 days but honestly I felt very ill and covid was another 7 days so all in all it was 2 weeks off awfulness so just want to be honest! But I'm through the other side

I still feel stuffy nose and slightly heady 3 weeks later ! But nothing like before
It hurt to put my head on my pillow! So I now sleep with 2 huge pillows and it's actually comfier as I feel my body isn't as flat and actually helps with my rib pain

X

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 23/03/2022 21:07

Oh man I was hoping it'd shift in a few days but at least I can face the reality it might not.
I thought I started to turn a corner today even though my head was still completely clogged up and killing the body aches and shivers didn't happen all day, but they're back tonight and I feel awful 😩
Currently got a kool n sooth pad on my head and a breath right strip across my nose I look a right tit

How are you feeling today OP? I tested positive yesterday at 22 weeks pregnant. Whole body was sore but especially aching back and legs, this has however much improved today. I also had the worst migraine I've ever had yesterday with paracetamol not helping at all only working for the body aches. I must say today I feel so much better, my headache has nearly gone and so much less achy. I do have a bit of a stuffy nose however nothing to problematic so far. Hopefully you are feeling a bit better and you're symptoms don't last too long. I didn't expect to feel any better today but glad that I do!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 24/03/2022 10:15

@2littleloves I managed to fall asleep at 2am when I could have my next dose of paracetamol, woke up much less congested but still have pains in my head. Coughing more today and also dizzy today, just hope I'm turning a corner as I've felt so poorly with it.
Sorry to hear you tested positive too, hopefully it won't get any worse for you! Mine seems to come on waves
