Covid at 6 weeks, really worried

Hi all
I know the risks to the embryo are fairly low but the reason I'm worried is because I haven't been able to regulate my temperature very well despite taking paracetamol. I made the mistake of googling and high temperature in first trimester is associated with cleft lip and palate amongst other facial deformities :( I am ever so slightly better now and my temperature is okay, but I'm worried I've already done the damage. I was afraid of taking too much paracetamol and now I've just read about the deformities. Has anyone been through similar and their baby been ok? My temperature wasn't terribly high but higher than usual.

I haven’t had covid during pregnancy, only afterwards. As long as you took the correct dosage of paracetamol you should be fine.

As a mother of a child with a cleft lip and palate, there are more severe, life limiting conditions that a child can have. I was healthy in pregnancy, with no complications so it really is beyond your control. Facial difference needs to be more accepted in the world - not classed as a “deformity”. Attitudes like that will make life for my child more unpleasant.

Nobody wants to have a child with any sort of challenge. But a little perspective.

I had covid at 6 weeks pregnant too & was really unwell for a few days but it passed. I think I did experience long covid for 3 weeks after (just breathlessness and fatigue) but looking back, it was probably pregnancy symptoms too! I took paracetamol. I also had major sweats, hot and cold & struggled to regulate my body heat. However from my scans etc, I have a healthy baby growing as it should Smile I haven't thought of any deformities, I'm just happy the baby is doing well. Try avoid Dr google, it does nothing for anxiety! I'm sure you & the baby will be absolutely fine x
