Itchy Tummy/Bump

My tummy has been itching like mad over the last few days and I can't remember if I had this when pg with ds. Is this normal? i.e. because the skin is stretching etc? Anything you can recommend putting on it to stop the itching?

TIA

yeah i had that! So annoying! Keep putting moisterisor on your bump. I found bio oil the best. Good bonding too! It isnt anything wrong but if you get itchy palms/feet you need to see midwife though

air your belly ! and calamine lotion good

agree re itchy palms and feet needing checking out

Cheers for that. Will try and get some oil then, any recommendations to where I can get that from? Maybe somewhere like Mothercare has some?

Cheers again - it's just my belly thank god. I'm only 15+6 so gotta use something as long way to go yet!

Bio Oil is amazing. It makes your skin lovely and so moisturised, plus you can use it in the bath too. It's £8.75 in Morrisons and Tesco, but you can get it at Boots and I think chemists too.

Ordinary baby lotion works wonders.

or even almond oil or olive oil! But i swore by bio oil, dont have any stretch marks and my belly was HUGE1

SugarSpiceandAllThingsNice · 06/01/2008 14:02

Well I have LOADS of stretch marks from ds but I just don't want to add any more plus the itchy is driving me mad! Will try all this stuff then and put on at night. I did olive oil downstairs one day to try and help but big bottle from kitchen and very messy so would prefer to have something to keep in my bedroom. I don't actually like oil but if it works then I'll give it a go.

Thanks

bio oil sinks in v quickly. I even use instead of handcream as so good

Lomond · 06/01/2008 14:10

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!

It should help a lot. If you want to use olive oil you can buy small empty bottles in Boots (means for taking on hols for shampoo etc), you could keep topping one of those up.

SugarSpiceandAllThingsNice · 06/01/2008 14:11

If Bio Oil sinks in quickly then I'll try that as the Olive Oil certainly didn't and it also had a horrible smell.

yeah, you end up smelling like a chip pan!
