Early scan measurements

I should be 7-8 weeks pregnant. Had a private scan yesterday that found no heartbeat and gave the following measurements: sac 20x13x28mm, fetus crl 1.8mm. She wouldn't confirm a miscarriage till I've had a second scan in two weeks but said it's not promising.

I'm not looking for false hope, a miscarriage at this point would be disappointing but I'd be ok. I'm just curious whether anyone's had similar measurements that turned out to be viable or if it's a done deal and just a matter of waiting for the inevitable. If anyone wouldn't mind sharing their experience, either way, I'd be so grateful.

Currently going through something similar with the same irritating wait. Sorry you’re experiencing it too :(

I'm sorry you are as well. It's a grim sort of two week wait. How are you feeling?

I just want it over with now :( If the measurements she took of mine are accurate then there’s no chance of viability. I’ve had a feeling that this pregnancy was doomed from the start. I’m trying to get my second scan moved forward as I’m not sure why it needs to be two weeks. Surely they can tell in one week whether it grew or not.

Have they put you on progesterone?

No, they haven't put me on anything. I've got no cramping/bleeding, I guess. Just feel v nauseous and pregnant, which sucks a bit if it's all for nothing. I've got my first scan at the EPU on Tuesday (I originally had a private scan, which they won't accept), and then another two weeks after that apparently. It does feel like a v long wait. Let me know how you get on with having the second scan moved forward. Did you have a private one as well or were you at the EPU from the start?

We were EPU from the start as I had some brown spotting. The consultant put me on progesterone which has stopped it now and she couldn’t find a sinister source for the bleeding but then we discovered this new problem with the baby being two weeks behind :(

I couldn’t talk them into scanning me earlier. A consultant wasn’t available so it was just a midwife who saw me. She said someone would contact me on Tuesday to maybe agree to scan me on Friday instead. At least if I can shave five days off then I can start the medication for the managed miscarriage then and have the weekend to go through it.

Just checking how you're doing, did you manage to speak to someone yesterday? I've had my first "proper" scan at the EPU now, they arranged the follow up one for next Friday, so 10 days later rather than 14. Hope you're doing ok. The waiting is miserable.
