VBAC, waterbirth & induction

Just looking for experiences from VBAC mums that have managed to have successful waterbirths or been induced…

Call me mad, but I really want a VBAC after having an emergency C-section with my first breech baby. I was so looking forward to birth (yes call me crazy!) but to me it’s a life experience I’m desperate to well, experience!

My consultant seemed pretty positive for trying for a waterbirth as I’m low risk other than the previous section. However I had another call at 36 weeks with a different consultant as mine was busy who basically told me me waterbirths were out of the question for VBACers. She changed her tune a bit after I told her that my consultant was previously happy for me to try. But then proceeded to tell me that if I got to 40 weeks I would need to book a C-section as the risk of being induced is far greater. So I unfortunately agreed to it at 41 weeks.

I’ve since researched and found that there are safe options for induction such as balloon & rupturing membranes etc.

So just wondering if I’m mad…or if any of you have gone down the waterbirth induction route?

Obviously goes without saying that if my baby or I showed any signs of distress I would opt for a C-section in a heartbeat. It’s just this is my last baby and I want to try to deliver as best I can before going for a C-section.
