Pregnancy of unknown location

Hello, I'm going out of my mind and hoping to hear some stories around PUL. I went in for a scan yesterday due to abdominal pain and no pregnancy could be found, and so I have Pregnancy of Unknown Location. My hCG came back at 440 and am due to have more bloods done tomorrow before I hear again from EPU on Monday to discuss next steps. I am just hoping to hear some positive stories around this. I should be around 5weeks4days.

I had this years ago and after my next hcg came back they told me it was definitely growing in there but not able to find it. It could have been hiding in my tubes they said as there are hiding places in them which can’t always been seen from ultrasound and I was offered chemo injection or key hole surgery. I left it and waited it out and I started to bleed about 1 week later when I would have been in my 7th week and they said my body may well absorb it and I believe it was in my left tube as I got this awful ache in my tube that wouldn’t go away once the bleeding started.

Your still early and with a hcg of only 400 they told me they don’t see much at all when hcg is below 1500 so try not to worry yet

Hi, this is my current situation, early scan private for reassurance at which I though I’d have been 6 weeks 2 days according to Flo app and last period. PUL suspected ectopic as I have a mass on left ovary, just have a small bleed pink but unsure if that’s because things have been prodded up there today? Trying to stay hopefully and speak to EPAU tomorrow morning. Haven’t had pain minus what I can only describe as a stretching feeling which last a few days last week. Do yous have any positive updates?xx

Gestation wise and hcg level wise, that’s too soon to see a baby via a scan (even transvaginal).

Early scans can cause so much worry for this reason. Hopefully all is ok and the bloods show your hcg is doubling.

Hi, thank you for your comment. I just wanted to respond to this in case it is found by anybody else who may wonder what happened after I’d posted this. Unfortunately I lost the pregnancy. X

So sorry for your loss OP.
The same had happened to me few years ago.
I had no idea then but apparently 30% pregnancies end with a miscarriage, getting to 40% in mid 30s.
The lovely nurses at the EPU told me then that very soon I would be back next door with a healthy baby and they were right! I am sure the same will happen very soon for you too. Big hugs!

I should be 7 weeks today but could only see a sack in womb as well as a bruise & small bleed
