28 week measuring small

Hi, I’m 28 weeks on Saturday and I was told by my midwife today that bump is measuring slightly under regular size. She has booked me in for a scan in the morning to check everything is okay. Has anyone had this experience before and any advice? X

I wouldn't worry too much, measuring the fundal height is very inaccurate. When I was pregnant with DD, my measurements had shot up and she was measuring 3 weeks ahead but when I had the scan, she was perfectly fine and it was just the way she was laid!

My friend had monthly scans as they were worried about her little boy being very small. We we're pregnant at the same time and he ended up being much bigger at birth than my little boy. There's loads of room for error and bump size doesn't always mean you will have a small baby. I work with a women who was so slight she was really worried and upset by it and her little girl was also heavier at birth than my little boy who wasn't even that small at 6.13lb. They are just being extra safe sending you for a scan don't worry.

They can't measure accurately with scans or anything.

I was told ds would be 10lbs and he was 6lb 8 and was told dd would be roughly 8lb and she was 11lb 4. They honestly don't know.

Don't worry.
