40 weeks worrying bump shape

Today is my due date and everybody says I have a very "neat" i.e. small bump but at 5'4" and slim I am quite small. However I also have a lateral/side placenta so baby is all cramped up on my right hand side and I have a very strange bump shape indeed. It's like a large egg is sticking out on the right hand side only, just right of my belly button. I still feel plenty of arm and leg movement around the pointy egg and the egg does move more towards the middle after I sleep on my left hand side. Sometimes I'll feel a foot way over on my right hand side or up in my ribs but I still can't for the life of me understand what the cone egg shape is, if it was his bum then why is it so cone shaped like the top of ab easter egg?? Could his back be bent in a really horribly awkward way because there isn't enough room for him?? Eek.

Have your midwives been palpating for baby's position and explaining where he is to you? It sounds like the point is probably his bum. My midwife told me that it's quite rare for babies to lie centrally, regardless of where the placenta is.

They said he's head down and had a feel about but otherwise no haven't really said anything about what bits are where.

Mine used to be cone shaped in the mornings particularly, and I put it down to her curling up with her bum stuck up, funnily enough she slept like that a lot when she shifted to tummy sleeping, bum up. It was definitely not her head as she stayed head down from 24 weeks and didn't change, I had regular scans
