Raw bean spouts ?

Discovered last night that apparently raw beansprouts are a risk food. The nhs website says they should be cooked through 😕
I've ate them raw twice in the last two weeks in this Asda pre shredded coleslaw kit. Haven't been ill. Should I worry ?

Is it this one?
groceries.asda.com/product/salad-bags/asda-creamy-coleslaw-kit-with-mayonnaise/1000044624980 if so theres no bean sprouts.

Raw bean sprouts are a no even if you aren't pregnant (there's a warning on the packet of beansprouts) so I doubt they'd be in a kit to eat raw

Thanks for checking but isn't that one it's the 'ranch coleslaw kit' and it doesn't even state beansprouts on the ingredients it says broccoli stems and onions, and they definitely wasn't in it ! It was beansprouts! I checked the reviews and someone even left a comment asking why there was bean sprouts in it lol, the only thing that kinda reassured me is it said washed and ready to eat

That would be the broccoli stems

Moonshine160 · 16/03/2022 13:55

That’s not a beansprout

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 16/03/2022 14:01

They're white though wouldn't broccoli stems be green ? And bigger ??

The big chunky stems of broccoli are pale inside. Chop them into fine strands and that's what you see on the photo you posted.
You haven't eaten beansprouts.
