big boobs before pregnancy

I would like to hear from anyone who has had a baby who had big boobs before they were pregnant. I am a 30-32 FF-G cup, small back, BIG boobs. I'm terrified that they're going to ballistic. I mean, how much can they actually grow? There's enough room in there as it is to feed the whole of my street. I'm almost 12 weeks and there doesn't seem to be too much growth, soreness, yes but not too much growth. Anyone want to tackle this one?

Hi

I was an 32E before I got pregnant, grew to a 34G in the first three months and then it settled down, currently wearing 36E. I am sure they will tell me that I need something awesome for nursing bras, but it has not been so bad so far, my norks ahve not kept growing all through pregnancy.

My top tip of bras: Marks and Spencers Optimum Support bras, non-wired for big boos, really comfy and not too ugly.

Forgot to say I am 37 weeks pregnant, so have not had baby yet.

Hi gilly. I was an H cup pre-pregnancy, an H cup during pregnancy, have been breastfeeding for nearly 2 years and have remained an H cup throughout, so you might be lucky and not see any growth either.

i was size 36DD for years before i was pg. Towards the end of pg i was 44EE and then went down to 34FF....i gave birth 3 years ago now, so im bigger than i was before i was pg with dd

Hi Gilly
I was a 30F pre pregnancy, went up to a 32H by about 20 weeks and stayed that way through the rest of the pregnancy and one year of breast feeding, although they did shrink a few cup sizes in the last few months of bf. Stopped bf about 2 months ago and now back down to a 30F (albeit a little droopier than before) . To reassure you, although a 32H is indeed massive, when you are pregnant they are kind of balanced out by your big tummy, and as you lose the baby weight, the boobs go back down to normal too. HTH and good luck with your pregnancy!

Thanks ladies, there is more than a glimmer of hope in your replies, the thought of more shoulder strain is killing me!

I was a 36GG before I was pregnant the first time & ended up a 36H by the end, so very little change - they did get a lot bigger the first few weeks of b/f (DH said I looked like Jordan - "thanks" ), but then settled down a bit (was in a 36J bra, but it was brobably a bit big). After I stopped b/f they went back to a 36GG, just a bit more droopy than they used to be

daisy26 · 05/01/2008 20:33

well my boobs r a normal size but one is bigger than the other-and its obvious wen i look in the mirror-one looks sunk and the other one dnt-im 7 weeks pregnant-this normal?

crimplene · 05/01/2008 21:37

I was a 36G before, went to 38F so no real increase in boob size while pg despite putting on a lot of weight, but 5 days post partum they ballooned in a very scary way so while bfing I've stayed at a 38L . It's not a good look.

Just watch out for MWs who think your milk has come in when it hasn't yet - one or two were trying to convince me to give DS formula because we weren't getting the hang of bfing despite there 'obviously' being plenty there, but actually, nope, they were still empty.

if you're planning to bf you may find it harder going than most people do - huge norks are a real hindrance.

SazzaK · 05/01/2008 21:43

I was about the same Gilly, maybe slightly smaller. Mine didn't grow any more after hte first trimester until my milk came in - I went to 32H but soon settled down to a 32G then F and decreased as baby took less milk. I was back to my normal size before I stopped bfing at 9 months.

Mumblesmummy · 06/01/2008 14:05

I was a 36FF, then went to a 34C, then got pregnant, I'm 22 weeks and 38FF bras are very very tight and I have four boobs in them... if they're going to ballon, they're going to balloon, there's nothing you can do I don't think. I assume mine will be horrendous by 40 weeks, and then BFing is going to make them ridiculous- we'll have to buy me a seperate sofa and bed to place them on. Don't worry, it's just another joy of having babies

KashaSarrasin · 06/01/2008 18:32

I don't want to scare you, but I was a 32G pre-pregnancy DS, and they peaked (quite literally!!!) at a 34L when my milk came in. They settled back down, eventually, at about a 32GG (DS is now 2.7).

I was only about a 34H at the end of pregnancy though, they just really ballooned in the few days after birth - I had problems with oversupply, and trying to latch a newborn onto something the size and hardness of a football wasn't easy! (but we got there in the end, and DS is still bf now ).

Good luck!

wobbegong · 06/01/2008 20:18

Panic not gillythekid. I started as a 32G like you, and was pretty worried I would end up looking like Lola Ferrari (anyone else remember her?). In the end I just got bigger in the back (36G at the end- not too terrible) and thanks to the wonderful Bravissimo was always kept in lovely bras. (Ignore anyone who tells you you need to give up the underwireds when pregnant).

Like Kasha I had massive norks when the milk came in (36K ) so make sure you have bought your soft nursing bras well in advance. I gave birth three weeks early and hadn't got around to bra-shopping, so it was pretty damned uncomfortable until DH dashed out to get one. A month later they are now 36H but don't feel as heavy as I had worried. Having said that I'm REALLY missing being able to wear underwireds- and why are nursing bras all so hideous?

Prufrock · 06/01/2008 20:43

I was a 32F before pregnancy, went up to about a 36G by the end, and about 2 weeks into bf was a 34M (John Lewis will order those in for you ) The morning that dd slept through for the first time, there was no way my boobs would even have fitted in those - Lola Ferrari had nothing on me. but a mammoth feed and express later and they were Ok again. After a couple of months when we'd got the hang of bf I was back to a 32FF/G, and even when I went back to work and was onoly feeding morning and night there wasn't a noticeable change.

One thing I wish I'd had was the new bravissimo supportive nightwear- I used to hate sleeping in contrictive bras, but the braless nights, loss of elasticity from pregnancy and the stretching of skin from yo-yo sizing during bf has meant that my boobs are very saggy now - still look fine in a bra but practically meet the stomach overhang without one.

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2008 20:46

I was 34ff before pregnancy and only went up to about 34g throughout pregnancy and a year breastfeeding. I could express ok until about 6 months and never leaked.
