Are my lines getting darker?

Hi ladies,

I hate to be this person and I told myself I'd try and be more relaxed this time, but I'm 15dpo today and worried my lines aren't progressing very well. First tested positive at 12dpo and it just feels like they aren't getting much darker, particularly the FRERs. I feel like they should be darker at this stage?

I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks in January and we are so happy to be pregnant again and I am trying to just enjoy it but I can't help but worrying :(

What do you think?

Yes the Easy@Home ones look similar to mine if not better :) I stressed for a LONG time about whether they were dark enough.

You can see how the line also varies depending on time of the day...

It drove me mad. But last scan i was 8+6 and all good with heartbeat.

I think testing regularly like this is causing you extra stress op. I completely understand the anxiety though but depending on the time of day you are testing or how diluted your wee is, this could be be affecting the level of HCG hormone in your urine which is used to detect the pregnancy on the test. Nothing can take away your worries but try your best to distract yourself as much as possible. I found that googling and testing and reading and obsessing over the pregnancy made me feel worse. If you're feeling really worried and can afford it, I'd go for an early scan when you can. That might help you be more at ease. Best of luck and congratulations!

@TheBirdintheCave I wish I wouldn't stress! Thank you, I can see change in the Easy@Home ones, but the FRERs worry me but then again I have never used them before so I'm not sure how dark they can get!

@SunnySideUp2020 that's such lovely news, I'm so glad all is looking well for you :) and thank you for the pictures, it's helpful to see other peoples!

@cigarettesNalcohol I know you're right, and I tell myself I won't test and then I cave in as soon as I enter the bathroom telling myself it will make me feel better but ultimately it doesn't. We will definitely get an early scan, just horrible waiting for that to roll around. I'll try my best to manage my testing as I know you are right! Thank you x

It's such a difficult time to navigate, we should feel happy yet we are ridden with anxiety. My community midwife was really good at helping me manage that as I progressed further along. She would see me every two weeks and check the baby etc which helped me feel a bit better. Perhaps this is something worth mentioning to your midwife later on too.

They are definitely getting darker, also my tests on the cheap pregnancy strips are quite faint but I’m getting strong lines on FRER and 2-3 on clear blue

Nellie1027 · 15/03/2022 10:23

@cigarettesNalcohol I know I found it difficult last time too, it's just filled with so much uncertainty. I think that's a good idea, when I have my booking appointment I will certainly mention it, thank you :)

@boringperson123 thank you! Sometimes I just need other people to confirm things for me as I convince myself otherwise! I have 1-2 weeks on ClearBlue at the moment but I'm going to check again in a week or so as I don't want to check too early and then worry if it hasn't gone up! My FRERs worry me, but I can see them getting darker on my Easy@Home so I guess that's a positive!
