I'm 43 my husband is 50. He has anti sperm antibodies. We tried ivf and icsi a few years ago but no luck. We adopted two kids and we are a happy family of four. The kids are in their teens.

Haven't had a period since november presumed menopause. Just to tile it out ive done a pregnancy test. You can guess the rest.

How many of these are
False positives with the menopause etc

Well what a surprise!
My mum was told she’d never be able to have children due to illness.

It happens.
Best of luck :) 🙂

Massive congratulations @HammerToFall 🌺

ClaryFairchild · 03/05/2022 23:12

My DC went to a village infant school that had predominantly older mothers. Most of us had DC in the mid to late 30s but a few had them in their early 40s. Not completely unusual.

You know how to raise children, depending on how olde your DC were when you adopted them the early days/weeks/years might be a learning experience but it's often different for each child anyway!

Congratulations, enjoy your surprise child!!!!

Sheilaroundthefountain · 03/05/2022 23:19

Many many congratulations.

Teenagehorrorbag · 03/05/2022 23:28

Wow, congratulations! It must be weird when you think the baby days are over, but I'm sure you'll rise to the challenge. As your other two are teens it shouldn't be too tricky logistically.

I had DTs aged 44 after various failed IVFs etc and eventually used donor eggs. It was all amazing - enjoy every minute, and remember - you can always buy an e-bike to keep up when this one is a teen.....(thoroughly recommend) Grin!

EdaYildiz · 03/05/2022 23:30

Congratulations!!! Just remember everything happens for a reason... it may not have been your time then but it certainly is now 😊
