maternity exemption cert at the opticians?

Just wondered if anyone knows if I can use my maternity exemption card at the opticians? I know its okay for prescriptions and the dentist but not sure about glasses?

afaik it doesn't apply to opticians

no you have to pay for eyes unless you wait till you get working tax credits (if you or your partner work)then you get it free
