Late period but negative pregnancy test

Hey all.
New to all this so please be kind if I’m doing it all wrong!
DH and I ttc.
We have 2 dc already (8+4) and this is our last chance really of having another. (Both early 40’s)
First 2 we conceived straight away (dc2 after just one time dtd!)
I’m never ever late (occasionally a day early) but always bang on 28 day cycle.
I’m now 3 days late with a neg test.
I’m guessing what I’m wanting to ask is…
a) has anyone had a bfn after period due date and then gone on to have a bfp a few days later?
And
b) has anyone conceived very quickly with first 2 pregnancies and then struggled 4 years later?

My period was never more late / unpredictable than when I was TTC. Personally I never got a negative FRER and then a positive one. But anything can happen so I would certainly try again in a couple of days.

I had 2 negative tests on something like, 2 days after period was due and 5 days after it was due and kept getting negative tests until I think I was a week late and finally got the BFP. I was 30 and it was my first pregnancy but I think it's good to point out that it does happen as all you usually hear is that tests are very rarely wrong. Dr said that I had probably ovulated late. Best of luck!

Thank you. I did wonder if I may have ovulated later then usual as I was unwell a couple of weeks ago and I’d read that sometimes a virus or something can affect your period. Time will tell, I guess x

Hi. The same story here. I'm 4 days late and AF is always to the day.
2 negative tests. One I thought looked positive but think it was evap lines. If nothing has happened in the next 3 days I'm going to test again.

AF arrived this morning.
Oh well.
When we decided to try for a baby in early 40s I prepared myself for a higher chance of miscarriage and potentially a more difficult pregnancy but I didn’t realise how hard it would be to actually fall pregnant after the last 2 times conceiving in the first cycle x
